Commitment
Accessibility
This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Here is specifically what that means in practice, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.

The standard we hold ourselves to
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which is also the benchmark the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) applies to public websites. We build to it because it is the right thing to do, and because we sell websites — shipping an inaccessible one would be difficult to defend.
What we have done
- Colour contrast. Every text and background pairing on the site has been measured, not eyeballed. Body text sits at 17:1 or better. Our gold brand colour is only ever used for text at ratios that pass — and buttons use dark text on gold at 9.17:1 rather than the white-on-gold that fails at 2.15:1.
- Keyboard access. Everything interactive is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring on every control. The mobile menu traps focus while open, closes on Escape and returns focus to the button that opened it.
- Skip link. A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Reduced motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, every animation duration collapses to nothing — scroll reveals, marquees, ambient gradients and the audit panel all stop.
- Forms. Every field has a real label. Errors are announced to screen readers, tied to their field programmatically, and always carry an icon and text — never colour alone.
- Structure. Semantic landmarks, one h1 per page, a heading order that does not skip levels, and descriptive link text instead of “click here”.
- Motion is never required. No content is only available through hover, and nothing important is conveyed by animation alone.
- Target size. Interactive controls meet the 44×44px minimum.
- Zoom and reflow. The site works at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling. Type is set in relative units, so your browser’s text size setting is respected.
Where we know we fall short
Being specific here is more useful than claiming perfection:
- The animated audit panel on the home page is decorative and marked as such. Its content is duplicated in text elsewhere on the page, but it is not itself an ideal way to consume that information.
- We have tested with keyboard, VoiceOver and NVDA. We have not yet run a formal third-party audit, and we have not tested with every assistive technology in use.
